Alright, alright, then I guess I'll take the win. I still want a rematch at some point, though! 'Sides, I need to find a game that makes you squeal. Fair's fair, right?

[Holy Hell Ryouta. The blanket was bad enough, but then when he says soething like that. He can't help but have his cheeks blush some as his brain is kind enough to give him mental images of that]

Haha...saying it like that makes it sound like some kind of pick up line, Ryouta.

[Ryouta tilts his head slightly. The hamster in his brain is working double-time, poor thing.]

Does that make what you said earlier about making me squeal a pick up line, then?

[He's terrible at flirting on purpose, but he's fine when it's accidental and natural. The guy can't win. And now he's gotta think about whether he meant this as a pick up line or not.

Because, honestly, he just thought he was turning Jun's words against him and now he's lost.]

[Ryouta. Ryouta PLEASE. Jun can't help but left out a small laugh in disbelief and amusement]

...You know for a guy who wants the Professor to step on you, you're supririsngly innocent.

[But he'll scoot closer to him, offering part of the blanket that Ryouta put on him so he can share it]

C'mon, there's enough blanket for us to both stay warm.

[Ryouta doesn't even think about it. He takes that end of the blanket and puts that over his shoulders, and scoots closer to Jun.]

Yeah, they weren't kidding when they said it was gonna be cold tonight. No staying out too late for us, I think.

[He's like 100% certain that Mikleo will kill him if Jun gets a chill or something.]

[Yes just as planned. They're close enough where Jun will lean against Ryouta. He reaches out for another blanket, pulling it up over their laps]

Haha, yeah. I think the latest I can do is 1am before Mikleo gets worried enough to come check on us anyway.

[They're basically cuddling, and all Ryouta is thinking about is that he hopes Jun's warm enough with two blankets and the living furnace that is Ryouta Ibuki. He hangs his arm loosely around his friend's shoulders, mostly for comfort's sake. Well, and to help keep the blanket from being jostled by the wind.]

He's a good friend and roommate if he's doing all that for you. I'm just not psyched on being on the other end of his protective streak.

[The irony of this later will be staggering.]

So, you wanna play another game or something else?

[Jun meanwhile is very well aware they are cuddling and living for it. He lets himself relax, making himself comfortable against Ryouta and enjoying his warmth. ]

Well, we're partners. Partners look out for each other, don't they?

[Even if Mikleo can get a bit heavy with the protection...Jun really did appreciate him.

He makes a thoughtful sound at the question]

Hm...how about we lie back and look at the stars? You only started seeing the Spirit Vein recent, right?

Of course they do.

[Ryouta might not know a lot of things, but he knows a good friend when he sees one.]

Yeah! I haven't actually gotten a good look at it, thinking about it.

[Ah, but then he remembers his friend's wings.]

You sure you'll be comfortable lying back with your wings?

[Aw, he's thoughtful. Jun will give a little shrug]

It'll be fine. I'll just prop myself with my arms and that should keep weight off them.

[Ryouta does his best.]

Hmm... if you get tired, you could try to recline on me? Not sure that'll help, but it's worth trying.

Nah, I don't mind. I just wanna make sure you're comfortable!

Haha, well then...sure! Let's try that instead. I'd rather avoid getting sore arms if I can.

That's fair! Let's try this lying down and if it doesn't work, we can just keep sitting.

[He rearranges their pillows so that it's more comfortable, and goes ahead to lie down on his back.]

Alright! Your sorta mattress, sorta pillow is ready, Princess Jun!

[Jun will giggle, clearly charmed]

Why thank you, Sir Ryouta!

[He'll move to carefully lay against Ryouta so his head is resting on his chest. ]

No wonder you're a swan, you're as comfortable as a down pillow. Is it okay for you?

[Ryouta can't help laughing at that.]

I'll take that compliment coming from a princess! I'm fine, though.

[He puts an arm under his own head while his other arm goes across his stomach. The brunet looks up at the night sky with the Spirit Vein overhead.]

So, what's the deal with that thing, anyway? I mean, it's beautiful, but....

[Well as long as he's fine, Jun is going to go ahead and make himself comfortable. Warm not!boyfriend]

That's the Spirit Vein. They say it's like a river or connection to the Spirit Realm. Spirit Veins are the reason magic and other paranormal things can exist in this world.

[Ryouta doesn't protest. He's quite comfortable where he is as Jun's pillow. He hums a little as he listens to his friend's explanation.]

Huh. And now I can see it. How long have you been able to see it?

[There's genuine curiosity in his voice as he asks. He just wants to get to know Jun better, or at least understand him more.]

How long have I've been able to see Spirit Veins?

[Huh, not a question he gets asked usually]

About as long as I can remember, really.

This has always been your life, then?

[There's some horrifying and horrifyingly weird stuff that comes with it as a downside, but looking up at the Spirit Vein... Ryouta feels like there's a lot of cool stuff, too.]

I know it's probably not all cool or beautiful or anything, but... it's still kinda cool that you get to see stuff like this.

Mm, basically.

[And you know what? Ryouta phrases it in a way that Jun gets. Enough that he does feel compelled to open up a little. ]

...You're not wrong. Before I was adopted, I had a difficult life, and it was arguably because of my powers and the paranormal. So when my dad took me in and we moved to Kaisou, he tried really hard to make me have as normal of a life as possible.

It never really took though. I tried really hard to be normal like he wanted, but I kept finding myself being drawn back to the supernatural.

[For Ryouta's part, he does listen as Jun talks about it. There's a lot his friend seems to be keeping to himself, and that's okay. They might've known each other very well in their past lives, but here they're just getting started. Still....]

Obviously, I've never met your dad, but he sounds cool to me. He gave you a life that wasn't as difficult as what you left, right? So, that's normal enough, I think.

'Sides, I don't think there's anything wrong with you for being drawn to all this. It's been part of you your whole life, so sounds normal to me.
